The feature to automatically apply discount codes limited to specific customer ranks has been expanded. In addition to “Order” discounts, Ranky now also supports “Shipping” and “Product” discounts. This is the second major update following the release on June 5, 2025 (see release note).
With this update, you can now easily set up member rank-based discounts such as the following:
◆ Shipping Discounts
- Gold and Platinum members: Always get free shipping
◆ Product Discounts
- Gold members: Always get 10% off products with specific tags
- Silver members: Always get 5% off products from specific collections
As of July 2025, Shopify’s default features do not allow automatic discounts to be limited by specific customer segments.
Therefore, in order to offer discounts to customers in a specific rank, store owners had to manually distribute discount codes via email or other methods. Customers then had to enter the code themselves during checkout, which led to the following challenges:
・Customers who are not subscribed to email marketing may not receive the coupon.
・The need to manually enter a coupon code can hinder purchase completion.
By using Ranky’s automatic discount feature, you can create discounts that apply only to specific customer ranks. The discount code will be automatically applied on the checkout page for eligible customers.
Customers will automatically receive discounts based on their membership rank, without the need to enter a coupon code.
Note: Customers must be logged in to their account for the discount to be applied.
